Show Wasatch Academy,
E. M. Patterson, A. M., Principal

Mount Pleasant, Utah, Feb. 24, 1906.

Prof. George B. Sweazy [sic],
Salt Lake City, Utah,

Dear Mr. Sweazy [sic]:--

Your letter reached me just after Mr. Craig left. He had spoken to me, however, about using Miss Thompson and I heve [sic] written her about taking the work. Thanks for the suggestion, as also the one about the Bible work. I certainly agreed with his views and understood from him that he would mention the matter to Dr. Martin. I have not yet heard whether or not he did so but expect a letter from Dr. Martin in a few days.

Will you please tell Miss Paull of the request I have made of Miss Thompson, telling her I felt sure the committee would agree to any suggestions from Mr. Craig. Will you also ask her to secure for me if possible the initials and address of Mrs. Miller of the Grand school in Salt Lake City whom the committee agreed to ask to help on our program with a paper on English work in the grades. I have not yet succeeded in getting in communication with Miss Fisher whom Miss Pollock recommended for a series of talks. Have you any suggestions in case we fail to get her. Mr. Craig seemed to like the idea and intimated that the Board would meet the expense of her services if not too heavy.

I enclose $6.32 - collections from the sale of books to date.

Very Sincerely,

E. M. Patterson

|

In this letter to George B. Sweazey, E. M. Patterson writes about people he had spoken with and asks for the initials and address of Mrs. Miller of a school in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is, or will be asked, to write a paper on English work in school. He then notes he has not yet contacted Miss Fisher to give a series of talks, and asks for references from Mr. Sweazey in case he cannot get a hold of her. Mr. Patterson then informs Mr. Sweazey that he has enclosed $6.32 with this letter from selling books. Both Mr. Sweazey and Mr. Patterson are principals of schools in Utah, being the Salt Lake Collegiate Institute in Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, respectively. |
