Description |
The objective of this Master Thesis Project is to explore the implementation of Senate Bill 184, and investigate Pharmacist Prescribed Hormonal Contraception (PPHC) to address our public health concern of unintended pregnancy. Providers and pharmacists are in support of PPHC, and many states have implemented standing orders to support PPHC as a means to increase access for women and decreased rates of unintended pregnancy. PPHC has been successful and increases access to family planning for women. Recommendations would be to obtain more data in Utah on successes and barriers and implement these findings into future policymaking. A secondary recommendation would be to improve public awareness of PPHC as an available access for all women in Utah. |
