Description |
The purpose of this research project was to discover the elements of a successful leadership program in a K-12 school district, and how aspects of the program can be considered for other school districts to adopt. In addition, perceptions of leaders, what makes an effective program and socio-emotional needs of the participants were also addressed. Using a program within a diverse K-12 school district in an urban environment as the project setting, data was collected from program participants and administrative interviews in addition to analysis of third-party evaluations, which provided evidence of the impact of successful leadership development in the district. The data revealed the program has positively impacted general succession planning of talent, retention of staff and aided in improved communication between district administration and school leadership. Using this program as a model for other school districts lends itself to build more cohesive groups and improved outcomes in schools. |
