Description |
This is a qualitative teacher action research project exploring what strategies and techniques can be used in the classroom to impact a students' ability to write comprehensive and coherent writing pieces and increase motivation. The conceptual framework throughout this research was based on the theory of Constructivism, which states that new knowledge will be built onto previous knowledge. This research was focused strongly on three case studies and was conducted in a fourth grade classroom where an action research approach was used. The main focus areas in this study were strategies that increased motivation by helping students plan what to write in an organized way, strategies to help teach the mechanics of writing, along with strategies to help them understand writing prompts. There is an action plan included to assist educators in implementing these strategies in their classroom. |
