Without a doubt, artificial intelligence is a hot topic with literature concerning critical thinking, biases, security, privacy concerns and accessibility. However, there is next to no information from the perspective of professionals in higher education (instructional designers, professors and artificial intelligence specialists) concerning how artificial intelligence is affecting not only students, but also how we can protect the equity of education provided by institutions. Each position directly interacts with students through first-hand experience, but brought forth similar concerns, including artificial intelligence hallucinations, a disconnection with the human voice, artificial intelligence's interwoven reality with the learning process and how educational professionals feel it should be approached. |
