I am terribly sorry, however, that you could not come and visit us in Mamaroneck, Attached you will find the bibliographical details about the Coptic collection in two groupings, the journal part and the monograph part. I know, of course, that you understand the value of this material most likely better than I do. However, may I just point out that I know that, for instance, of the periodicals part the CORPUS SCRIPTORUM CHRISTIANORUM ORIENTALIUM alone was sold four years ago for over $ 3, 000; that the ZEITSCHRIFT FUER AEGYPTISCHE SPRACHE UND ALTERTUMSKUNDE was sold two years ago also for over $ 3, 000. I myself sold the ECHOS D'ORIENT for $ 1, 300 not too long ago. Needless to tell, therefore, that our asking price of $ 11, 880. 00 for this collection , if you take into account the extremely valuable book part and the other journals, should be considered very reasonable indeed. May I also say that, of course, as far as billing after July 1st or even spreading the expenses over two fiscar years are concerned, this will be acceptable to us. Should you want to consider only a part of the collection, please let me know what you would want, and I will try to re-quote you that part, if at all possible.
