Local law enforcement and Utah National Guard personnel were employed to transport 93 patients from the Salt Lake County General Hospital to the University of Utah Medical Center on the morning of July 10, 1965. With back to the camera (in dark cap, hand in pocket), from the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department, Occie Evans. For 22 years, Captain Evans was responsible for the school safety program in the Salt Lake Valley and was much-beloved as an ambassador to the community. |
