Description On the morning of July 10, 1965, seventy members of the Utah Army and Air National Guard successfully transferred nearly 100 patients from the Salt Lake County General Hospital. The fleet of military ambulances and other vehicles was met at the north entrance of the University of Utah Medical Center by Governor Calvin L. Rampton; Kenneth B Castleton, MD, PhD, Dean of the School of Medicine, Vernon L Harris, MHA, Hospital Administrator; Neal A. Maxwell, University Vice President; Major General Maurice L. Watts, Adjutant General, Utah National Guard; Marvin G. Jensen, Chairman Salt Lake Country Commission, and John Preston Creer, member, Salt Lake County Commission.
