FOUNDED April 3, 1908, the Utah Academy of Sciences was organized- to promote investigations and diffuse knowledge in all departments of science. In June 1933, at the annual meeting, the Academy was enlarged to include the arts and letters, and the name changed to the Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters. Its work is carried on by correspondence, committees, research papers, addresses, and discussions in general meetings, and by the publication of papers in the Proceedings. Sessions are held semi-annually, an interim meeting in the fall and an annual session in the spring. The Academy admits to membership all persons interested in its aims. Applications for membership are proposed in writing on membership blanks signed by the applicant and two members. |
