Title |
Development of a novel, coumarin-europium sensor for reactive oxidizing species |
Year graduated |
2012 |
Date |
2012-05 |
Description |
The synthetic framework has been developed for two fluorescent probes of Reactive Oxidizing Species (RoxS) based on a coumarin-europium fluorescence pair. The coumarin moiety's selectivity for hydrogen peroxide coupled with 620 nm shifted emission of the europium will make these novel sensors biologically useful imaging tools. The two probe compounds, L1 and L2, are based on known Europium Chelators and were easily synthesized from small molecule building blocks in good yield. |
