This design pays homage to the current Utah state flag in its dark blue background, yellow ring and beehive symbol in a much more simplified, iconic, and easier-to-remember format. The beehive symbol represents industry and community. The beehive coincidentally also resembles an arch and the southern Utah landscapes that attracts tourism and visitors from all over which is why half of it is colored in the dark orange color. The beehive's shape also hearkens to a mountain for which Utah is known for. The white half of the beehive signifies the great Utah snow (Greatest snow on Earth).
