Description |
"Colors: Rustic Red, to symbolize the arches in Southern Utah as well as Utah's beautiful sunsets. Snow White, to represent the greatest snow on earth and Utah's skiers and snowboarders. State Blue, represents the color of the old Utah State flag as well as the Great Salt Lake. Symbols: The mountains are in the style of the Native American symbol for mountain to pay tribute to Utah's Native American heritage. The Utah block letter wordmark in the middle of the flag is in the shape of Utah's borders and represents industry and the hardworking nature of Utah's citizens. The stars symbolize the state's belonging to the United States. The year 1896 is included to show when Utah gained statehood. The blue stripe at the bottom of the flag represents the Great Salt Lake as a major landmark of the state." |
