Description |
"Red, white, and blue each serve dual meanings in this flag. The first meaning calls to the flag of the United States of America, and the associated symbolism of hardiness, and valor; justice, vigilance, and perseverance; and purity, and innocence respectively. The second meaning and the order in which they appear represent the unparalleled geography and beauty of Utah. The red field at the bottom represents the red rock of southern Utah. The white mountains in the center represent the snow-covered mountains of Utah, the source of water, beauty, recreation, and industry. The blue sky represents the open possibilities, pristine wilderness, and openness of the state. The yellow beehive acknowledges the symbol of Utah - and our motto of Industry. The yellow represents wealth and optimism." |
