"This design is similar to design #1, only I swapped some of the color schemes. On this flag, the white-topped banner represents the 'greatest snow on earth' as well as the fog that often covers the Wasatch mountains. It can also represent Utah's great salt flats, visible from space as a giant white area. The red circle represents the red rock desert. The upper left star now represents the sun's reflection on the mountains, as on many clear winter days the snow shines brightly that it twinkles in the light like stars. All other aspects of the flag have a similar meaning to the first design."
