White represents the snow and is symbolic of purity and innocence. Red represents the mountains and is symbolic of valor and love. Yellow represents the desert and is symbolic of enlightenment, honor, and joy. Blue represents the sky and is symbolic of freedom and imagination. I designed this flag to depict the mountainous landscape that makes Utah beautiful in a simplistic design. The year represented is the year Utah became an official state. And the symbols around are the stars from the American flag, a seagull, a beehive, and a sego lily. The center is the arches national park a known symbol that depicts a fraction of Utah's beauty. The symbols of the colors where what I thought best represents all the people of Utah. No matter the race, no matter the religion, the people of Utah are known for their honesty and their willingness to spread joy. We are willing to learn from others, and take leaps of faith in the growth of our community. Such a true melting pot that it's hard to find one image to represent everyone, that I chose the land we share, and our values as human beings.
