Description |
I tried to capture the essence of Utah's amazing landscapes in a simple, symmetrical design. The blue stripe represents the awesome blue skies and sunny days. The white stripe represents the salt flats. The orange-ish stripe represents southern Utah's incomparable red rock (sampled from an image of Delicate Arch). The upper triangle is for Utah's majestic mountains, snowcapped as a nod to the ski industry and the "Greatest Snow on Earth" we get in general. The lower triangle is for Utah's many red rock canyons, the blue representing either the rivers or lakes, with special inspiration from Lake Powell. I've spent most of my life visiting and exploring the many varied terrains that Utah has to offer. Their beauty and uniqueness in the world I feel deserve to be celebrated and showcased on one of the state's most prominent symbols - the state flag. Thank you for your consideration! Lane Pollock |
