Description |
The beehive has become an ubiquitous symbol of Utah. It's found not only on the old flag, but also on road signs, the logos of some businesses and organizations, and many other places. Keeping the beehive on the new flag also pays homage to the old flag. The gold color represents the richness of Utah's industry and culture, and also hints at the golden spike that completed the transcontinental railroad. The red, white, and blue colors tie in with the national flag showing unity and symbolizing the same things as they do on the national flag. The rising slants symbolize "life elevated," our awesome mountains, and upward progression. |
