The blue honors the legacy of our former flag, and has ties to the Americans Blue Field where upon the states' stars are. The symbol of the beehive also honors the legacy of Utah being "beehive state." The hexagonal shape is a modern take on how Utah not only meets challenges from different angles, but also represents how there are many sides and features to our home. National Parks, Mountains, Canyons, Sports, diverse and dynamic population, and so on. The stripe across the middle suggests that despite all of the varying dynamics of our state, we come together when it matters. The golden field accented by a deep red represents the beautiful natural desert colors of our state.
