The Blue is from Utah's skies reflected in our lakes and rivers. White represents the snowy northern Utah. The Red reflects the red rocks prominent in Southern Utah. Gold represents the property of our state. The tricolor was placed on a diagonal to reduce similarities to other national flags. This format is found in other flags, but would be unique to a US state flag. The hexagon is a symbol of our state's focus on industry. The beehive calls to our state motto, and the state seal. |
