Description |
A blue field symbolizes our skies and waters; the lakes, rivers, and creeks. The red field symbolizes our red rocks, our sunsets, and the landscapes that stretch out before us. The fields of blue and red are joined by a band of white; representative of the salt flats, and the best snow on earth. The 5 stars symbolize our 5 Native tribes, and our 5 national parks. A deep part of our state's heritage is the natural beauty, and people that called these lands home long before we did. The beehive is a key symbol for the state, both secular and religious. Of all elements of the original flag and seal, it stands out as iconic and distinct. |
