Lithograph based on the sketch of Cochetopa Pass up East Pass Creek |
Description |
Lithograph by John Mix Stanley based on the sketch of the approach to Cochetopa Pass up East Pass Creek, drawn by Richard H. Kern during the Gunnison expedition on 1 September 1853. Shlaer explains how the sketch was labeled "Coo-che-to-pa Pass, leaving Sah-watch Creek," but the lithograph was mistitled to suggest it portrayed the Gunnison River below its confluence with today's Tomichi Creek . |
