Alternative Title |
Grand River, Sept. 7th, 1853, sketch |
Description |
Sketch of scene along the Grand (now Gunnison) River somewhat downstream from the site of the previous drawing (Plate 227, "On Twin Creek"), drawn by Richard H. Kern during the Gunnison expedition on September 7, 1853. Shlaer observes that Kern probably drew this and two others nearby to document the impracticality of building the railroad through this canyon. |
