Description |
The beehive - golden in color - is central to Utah's motto of industry and a momento to our hardwork and innovation and technologies. The bee represents an individual within a colony, so each Utahn should feel like they are a part of the people that make up our "colony" of Utah. It also represents flight in a subtle nod to Hill Air Force Base. The background is divided into two main fields by a stripe. The top field is blue and represents the open skies, symbolizing Utah's great outdoors and places of recreation. The middle stripe is white to represent either "the greatest snow on earth" that we are known for or the salt within the Great Salt Lake. The bottom field is red to symbolize the red rocks of southern Utah, Bryce National Park, Arches National Park, etc. |
