The red is for the Red Rock of Utah. The mountains are for the mountains of Utah. There is also the reflection of the mountains as if in a lake representing the Great Salt Lake and other lakes of Utah. The yellow goes along with the hexagons to represent a honeycomb reflecting back to the beehive on the original flag and its meaning as Utahs community and its idea of Industry. The line across the flag represents the separation between mountains and water paying homage to the land Utahans live. |
