Description The flag is divided similar to Utah's North-South geography. White in the north for snow and salt. Red-orange in the south for characteristic southern Utah rocks, as well as the State Mineral, copper. Black for the State Rock, coal, with the double black diamond in the center further representing Utah's world class slopes and snow. The double diamond perimeter and negative space use a hexagonal form in allusion to the State emblem, beehive, and the State motto "Industry".
