Description |
Symbols: The focal of the design is, of course, the beehive. Towards the right is a symbol with multiple meanings, depending on which angle you look at it; horizontally its meant to appear as a set of eagle wings; rotated right 90° it appears as a mountain; rotated left 90° it appears as a mineral. Colors: The red represents southern Utah's red mountains, and in extension, our national parks and great outdoors. The blue is for the great salt lake and the Wasatch front where most of the states population is centered upon - our community. The black symbolizes how our state came to be - from the LDS persecution and the subsequent retreat across the plains. The white symbolizes the peace from this time and the hope we have on moving forwards in cooperation. |
