Title Making accomodations for millennial metal health in the workplace
Date 2021
Description 1.Executive Summary Employee wellness is important to address in a business for a variety of reasons. Even before the pandemic, anxiety and depression were estimated to cost the economy around 1 trillion dollars in lost productivity according to the World Health Organization (2021). There is an interconnectedness that exists throughout a business, with employee retention and wages affecting mental health and vice-versa. Investing in workers mental health means supporting them through a range of policies. If employers support their workers in seeking treatment for their mental health, Chisholm (2016) estimates that there will be a $2.3-$3.0 to $1 return of economic benefits. With millennials now one of the dominant groups in the workforce, there is a need for policies to be adapted to support this group. This literature review seeks to understand policies that support millennial employee wellbeing. These policies can include adequate health insurance, competitive pay, and encouraged social awareness. This review aims to offer recommendations for leaders to maximize millennial work health and productivity.
