Description |
Presenting Symptom: Hyperproteinemia. Pathology: Punctate hemorrhage. Clinical: The patient was a 58-year old female with hepatosplenomegaly, lymphadenopathy, and anemia. Axillary node biopsy revealed lymphocytic lymphoma. The total serum protein was 9 gm % of which 32% was gammaglobulins. The blood viscosity varied from 7.6 to 17.9 (normal 1.4 to 1.8). The fundi showed numerous flame shaped and punctate hemorrhages, with considerable distension of all veins. DIsease/ Diagnosis: Hemorrhagic retinopathy associated with lymphomatous hyperproteinemia |
