Description White at the top symbolizes the snow of Northern Utah. Red on the bottom symbolizes the red rock of Southern Utah. The aspen leaf in the middle has meaning for three things. First, it is the Utah State Tree. Second, the aspen grove in Fish Lake National Forest is the world's largest organism. But third, and most importantly, an aspen grove is not many trees, but a collection of one large, living thing. Each aspen trunk is connected underground to all the rest. They are a community, linked together and therefore stronger together. This is the perfect symbol for all residents of Utah, because we are interconnected, no matter where we reside in the state.
