Standardizing Birth Plans |
Creator |
Lam, Merlynn |
Description |
For many women, birth plans have been the source of stress during labor due to their shortcomings. But when used appropriately, birth plans have the potential to be utilized as an educational tool to make the labor experience more engaging as well as less frustrating for both the patients and their healthcare team. Standardizing them would provide patients with more realistic expectations and allow caregivers to fulfill a higher number of requests. This intervention would be an option for patients and could possibly affect the outcome of patient satisfaction scores at the end of delivery. |
