Dr Li earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Chicago and his MD and PhD degrees from Washington University, St Louis. Dr Li joined the School of Medicine in 1995. From 2011-2015, Dr. Li was Associate Vice President for Research and Chief Scientific Officer for University of Utah Health Sciences, and Vice Dean for Research for the School of Medicine. While associated with the University of Utah, Dr. Li practiced general cardiology and ICU medicine as well as diagnosing and treating patients at the Veterans Hospital. Dr Li was the HA and Edna Benning Endowed Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the Molecular Medicine Program and School of Medicine MD/PhD Program. Dr Li was also an Adjunct Professor of Human Genetics and Adjunct Professor of Oncological Sciences. Dr. Li served as the Interim CEO at ARUP Laboratories 2015-16. In 2016, Dr Li was named Vice President of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Disease at Merck & Co. |
