Description |
The white on the mountains is for the state's abundant snow; showing proudly to all that our state truly has "The Greatest Snow on Earth". The background color is inspired by the year-round presence of the clear blue skies which help to define our state as a world class outdoor activity destination. The shape of the mountain symbol is inspired by a crown which further emphasizes the greatness of our state. The red is for the color of the rock upon which our state and its livelihood is based. Finally, the five stars on the flag symbolize the Native American tribes which lived in our state before the arrival of the white settlers. The Utes, Goshutes, Paiutes, Shoshone, and Navajo. |
