Juxtaposition of a sketch of a cliff and mountain through trees by White Pine Creek on the west side of the Wasatch Mountains, drawn by Richard H. Kern during the Gunnison expedition on 14 October 1853, and a recent photograph by Robert Shlaer from approximately the same place. Jared Johnson climbed the cliff that is mostly hidden by foliage and posed standing in order to provide the photograph a sense of scale. |
