Dear North American Vixillogists & Salt Lake Tribune: Please consider the enclosed entry for a proposed new Utah state flag I love my state of Utah but I absolutely agree that it needs a new flag The present one has no recognition virtues Here is my entry which I have tried to keep as simple as possible yet capture what is and always will be symbolic of our state I tried putting in mountains also; but that makes it too complicated As for Delicate Arch; that is too hard to represent clearly and is now a cliche So; The brilliant sun and desert sandstone buttes it is I hope you like it Sincerely; [~signature~] PS I would like to submit all entries to The Vexillogists But if I have to choose my favorite; it is the color of the redish sun & buttes on yell so marked on the back JG This design was a finalist in the Salt Lake Tribune Flag Contest. |
