Abstract |
An Instrument has been constructed based upon the differential ultraviolet resonant absorption detection of nitric oxide. A hollow cathode lamp produces strong gamma band emission of nitric oxide which is spectrally modified to generate a system response function which is solely sensitive to nitric oxide concentration. The system has been calibrated from 305 K to 1800 K. The rapid response of the system and its immunity to interferences associated with intrusive probe measurements make it a particularly favorable means for determining nitric oxide concentration in harsh environments. |
