Description |
My flag depicts petroglyphs from the Bears Ears region of Utah. The image depicts the thunderbird and a rising sun. I chose to depict petroglyphs from Bears Ears because the area has the same name in every language stretching from ancient times to now, representing a universal understanding and commonality. I chose the thunderbird and rising sun imagery because to me it represent the hope of the future (the powerful thunderbird is looking toward a future lit by the rising sun). The background is reflective of Utah's famous Hematite stone, the bare rock foundation humans have built on for thousands of years. The gold color of the imagery represents the hope of prosperity and success we all share. |
