Description "The five bars represent the five major Native American Tribes living within the state. These are the Navajo, Shoshone, Ute, Piute, and Goshute. The color red is the standard red in the U.S. national flag and represents the red rocks of southern Utah. The white represents snow and the Rocky Mountains. The blue is the same blue used in the current Utah flag and means the Great Salt Lake. The beehive represents the industrious and hard-working people of the state and the state's nickname. The star above the beehive represents statehood. The gold ring, the same color used in the current state flag, unites all parts of the state and represents unity as a state in the face of adversity."
