"The vermillion Color represents the vermillion colored rocks of Utah. the color vermillion stands for life and eternity. The two squares tipped forty five degrees stand for the four corners and unity. The white of the squares stand for innocence and purity. The gold beehive is a unifying symbol that represents every Utahn. The seven layers of the beehive represent the seven original counties of Utah that are Salt Lake, Tooele, Davis, Weber, Utah, Sanpete, and Iron. The gold of the beehive stands for wealth, generosity and the sun. The star stands for statehood and the five points of the star stand for the five Native American tribes of Utah, the Ute, Goshute, Paiute, Shoshone, and Navajo." |
