Description |
The main feature of this flag is the beehive which has long represented Utah's productivity and industry. In addition to the hive is a single star representative of Utah as a member of the United States. The arrows of the flag represent progress and looking forward to the future. The colors of black and gold are another representation of the honey bee. Black represents the richness of natural resources including those such as coal, gas and oil. The gold is representative of the desert landscape and of mining resources such as gold, silver and copper. White represents our snow capped mountains and salt flats. White is also a symbol of peace and inclusion. The blue is meant to keep some of heritage of our current state flag as well as representing open spaces, freedom, and inspiration. Blue also is representative of our lakes, rivers and beautiful night skies. |
