Description |
This design uses colors inspired by Utah's location in the desert southwest and its indigenous people. The purple relates to Utah's granite mountains and mining, the turquoise/sage to its native vegetation and agriculture, and the burnt orange/red to its beautiful red rock formations. The two white stripes angling to the upper right speak to the trails used by native people, early explorers, pioneers, and modern innovators who each have crossed through the state and left their mark (plus it's a subtle nod to our year-round recreational activities such as skiing and off-roading). The sego lily at the center represents Utah's state flower symbolizes Utah's youth, vibrancy, and hope for the future. |
