In March of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic drastically changed the course of life for most people in the world. This thesis aims to examine the effects that the COVID-19 pandemic had on women in higher education, specifically tracking the trajectories of undergraduate women in college. This thesis is a mixed method exploratory pilot study. Initially, two focus groups of 10 participants were selected and questioned about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Open-ended questions were used to collect baseline qualitative data about the affected community. After collecting these data, a short survey was developed. This survey consisted of multiple-choice questions to help formulate quantitative data surrounding the issue. Overall, this study incorporated varied personal experiences from women at the undergraduate level. This study aimed to highlight data on the potential outcome of the trajectories of undergraduate women to better understand the immediate effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. |
