Description |
Over 71% of adolescents in the Utah Juvenile Justice System report being sexually active. With the national average in the United States being just over 40%, there is a significant increased risk for sexually transmitted infections (STI) and unintended pregnancies in this population. While adolescents at the JJS are tested for STIs, and if female pregnancy, there is no related education in place. An educational video to address this gap in care was created and evaluated by JJS medical staff. JJS staff endorsed integrating the educational video into the care of adolescents at the JJS. |
