Description |
Presenting Symptom: Blurred vision OD; Cotton wool spots. Pathology: Papilledema. Clinical: The patient was a 49-year old female with alcoholic cirrhosis and probable recurrent esophageal bleeding. Her hemoglobin was 3.0 gm/100 cc with a hematocrit of 14%. The vision of the right eye became blurred and the fundus showed edema of the disc with peripapillary splinter hemorrhages and a solitary cotton wool spot. Disease/ Diagnosis: Optic neuropathy secondary to anemia. |
