Description "This is a simplified version of the flag above, the applicable symbolism remains the same but with a simpler design. I love Utah because I feel we are a state that greatly values peace above all else. Much like the slogan life elevated states, I feel that residents of Utah are naturally and traditionally bringers of joy and strive to uplift one another. I Love Utah because I know that everyone are working together in conformity to build a better nation under God. I chose a familiar White, Yellow and Blue color scheme similar to our current state flag, as well as a few other elements to represent the new state flag. This choice was to capture the tradition of Utah and remind us of where we came from; as well as reiterate the feeling of peace we strive for. I chose to use the California Gull to represent the resilience and courageousness of the Pioneers, as well as their prowess to press forward during hardship. I chose to use the color yellow in the California Gull to represent the happiness and light carried within. Gripped tightly in the beak of our feathered lionheart is a Sego Lily. This was used to represent the mercy and freedom residents of Utah heartily carry with them. The Seagull and the Lily are traversing over a stripe of blue, representing how we strive to carry freedom and acceptance over the threshold of serenity, which produces the end result: peace. The white is used to represent those feelings of peace, which was carried through the messengers of it. Lined along the edges of the white are stars which represent the divine guidance that is rewarded to individuals through peace, as well as displaying 45 stars in memory of Utah becoming the official 45th state of the United States. The final 6 stars, displayed more proudly in the open are used to represent the 6 tribes upon which Utah's Native roots were founded upon. The largest star in the center is to represent the miracle. What miracle you ask? The miracle of Utah. This blessed state, despite seeing trial after trial from the perspective of Indian tribes and Pioneers alike has surpassed everything into the miracle. It's a marvel that Utah was founded, it's a wonder that Utah still thrives to this very day. The biggest miracle however, is that the miracle is found in each of us. This state is the embodiment of willing people persevering into peace. The miracle is the peace we uphold and cherish. The miracle is the peace inside us. This is what Utah means to me, and I am grateful for the miracle everyday. I hope this flag inspires and invigorates others to share the miracle, and the serenity... and the Peace. Thank you."
