"The beehive with the hard work and industry that it represents is at the center of the flag just like how it lies in the people of Utah. The bluish grey interior shows the thriving cities that have sprung up and prospered in the hive that was created from our communities. How we took a state of desolate, and transformed it into the beautiful state we see today. Emanating out from the beehive is the iconic red sands of the south, and above is the many rivers, lakes, waterfalls, streams, and nature that can be found shown in the dark teal of life that matches the unique blue spruce forests that use to be the state tree."
