"I chose the hexagon and yellow as a representation of a honeycomb, a reference to the historical symbol of Utah, the beehive, as well as the deseret, and our state's industry. The red to me speaks most strongly of our southern red rock, and the white of our great and prominent snow caps. The blue here is to unify our flag with that of our nation and the flag's of our many sister states, the strength of our union and our democracy." |
