Description The lines breaking up the flag represent the Rocky Mountain range and Colorado River that break up the state and create it's natural beauty. Dark blue ties into the previous flag design so there is some familiarity as well as reminiscent of the Great Salt Lake. The white is for the "Greatest Snow On Earth". The gold is for our industry and agriculture as well as the beautiful colors you'll find in the central and southern parts the state. And finally, the aspen leaf not only represents our state tree but also the fact that an aspen tree in our state is the largest organism on Earth and represents a unified state that covers lots of area but grows as one.
