Description |
The flag uses various colors to represent the landscape of Utah. Dark red for the red rock landscapes in the southern portion of the state, white for the towering mountains, and yellow for the vibrant Utah sun. The general layout of the flag as split into quadrants represents the diversity of the landscape and the many different regions it is divided into. The curved nature of the flag is symbolic of the curved and sculpted landscape which has undergone millennia of erosion. The two perpendicular rays of sunlight represent the people and the natural resources of Utah. The central circle enveloped by the sunlight represents Utah itself, an intersection of people and nature. |
