"The red and white background is meant to represent the snow and red rock that are both so iconic of our landscape. The zig zag in the middle is representative of mountains; blue was chosen so the shape also looks like water, to suggest our precious lakes and rivers. The beehive is representative of the LDS history of the state, and the feather represents the native tribes, many of whom use eagle imagery and feathers in their tribal traditions. Featuring both together is meant to communicate the idea that both histories should work together to forge a new, more beneficial future for all."
