Description The three sections of the flag stand for northern, central, and southern Utah. The two white stripes stand for the Greatest Snow on Earth as well as Innocence and Purity, The central blue stripe is a carryover from the original flag and stands for perseverance and justice. It also represents the Great Salt Lake as well as all the lakes, rivers, and streams in the State. The Beehive is a unifying symbol that represents all Utahns as Utah is called the "Beehive State". The seven layers of the beehive represent the seven original counties of Utah that are Salt Lake, Tooele, Davis, Weber, Utah, Sanpete, and Iron. The Gold of the Beehive stands for wealth, generosity, and the sun. The Star represents Statehood and the five points of the star represent the five Native American Tribes of Utah, the Ute, Goshute, Paiute, Shoshone, and Navajo.
